Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of services provided by FingerprintsEU s.r.o. ("FingerprintsEU", "we", "us", or "our"), a company based in Prague, Czech Republic, specializing in fingerprinting and identity-related services, including fingerprint collection for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

By booking an appointment, submitting fingerprints, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Scope of Services

FingerprintsEU provides professional fingerprinting and identity verification services, which may include but are not limited to:

• Ink and/or live-scan fingerprint collection
• Fingerprinting for FBI Identity History Summary Checks
• Fingerprinting for RCMP Certified Criminal Record Checks
• Fingerprinting for immigration, employment, licensing, or background check purposes
• Verification of identity documents as required for fingerprinting

FingerprintsEU does not issue background check results, criminal records, or clearance decisions. All determinations are made solely by the requesting authority (e.g., FBI, RCMP, or other agencies).

3. Eligibility

You must:
• Be at least 18 years of age, or
• Be a minor accompanied by a legal guardian with valid identification and written consent

You must present valid, government-issued photo identification at the time of service.

4. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:
• Provide accurate, truthful, and complete personal information
• Ensure that the fingerprinting service selected meets the requirements of the requesting authority
• Review all forms and data for accuracy prior to submission
• Follow instructions provided by FingerprintsEU staff

FingerprintsEU is not responsible for delays, rejections, or additional fees caused by incorrect information, poor fingerprint quality due to client conditions (e.g., worn fingerprints), or errors originating from third-party agencies.

5. Appointments, Fees, and Payments

5.1 Appointments

Appointments may be required. Walk-ins are accepted only where explicitly stated.

5.2 Fees

• All fees are disclosed prior to service
• Fees are charged per applicant unless otherwise stated
• Government or third-party processing fees are not included unless explicitly noted

5.3 Payments

• Payment is due at the time of service
• Accepted payment methods will be communicated in advance

5.4 Refund Policy

Fingerprinting services are non-refundable once performed, regardless of the outcome or acceptance by third-party authorities.

6. Processing Times

FingerprintsEU has no control over processing times once fingerprints are submitted to external authorities such as the FBI or RCMP. Estimated timelines are provided for convenience only and are not guaranteed.

7. Data Protection and Privacy

FingerprintsEU processes personal data, including biometric data, in accordance with:
• Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR)
• Applicable Czech data protection laws

7.1 Biometric Data

Fingerprint data is collected solely for the purpose requested by the client and transmitted securely to the designated authority. Fingerprints are not retained longer than necessary to complete the service, unless required by law.

7.2 Privacy Policy

Detailed information regarding data handling, retention, and your rights is available in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

8. No Legal or Immigration Advice

FingerprintsEU does not provide legal, immigration, or law enforcement advice. Clients are solely responsible for understanding the requirements of the requesting authority or jurisdiction.

9. Third-Party Authorities

FingerprintsEU acts as a service provider and intermediary. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the FBI, RCMP, or any other governmental authority. Decisions regarding acceptance, rejection, or results are made exclusively by those authorities.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:
• FingerprintsEU shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service

This includes, without limitation, delays, lost opportunities, immigration consequences, employment outcomes, or application denials.

11. Force Majeure

FingerprintsEU shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, governmental actions, system outages, or pandemics.

12. Suspension or Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services if:
• Identification cannot be verified
• False or misleading information is provided
• Client behavior is abusive, threatening, or unsafe
• Legal or regulatory requirements cannot be met

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Prague, Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

14. Amendments

FingerprintsEU may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of service shall apply.
